Why do some people treat facebook like it's Eharmony?

Or another dating site? I mean if I wanted to hook up with someone I'd get on one of those sites.... I feel like facebook (and MYSPACE) is a place to connect with family members & friends, not a place to meet NEW people & try to hook up/holler at them. What do you think?
