Is the jumping, screaming & hollering I see on tv during a concert considered good music?

Someone educate me! Is a singer jumping around the stage with a mike in his hand, music so loud you can't hear the words nor the melody, several guitars at full blast-is that good music to applaud? The words nor the tune or melody can be made out! Can't anyone jump around like that and get away with a missed beat, missed word, missed tune? Who would know? I feel I could get up on stage miss all the rythmns and NO ONE would know! Example: the singer on American Idol who screamed a Heavy Metal show the other night. Anyone can scream like that and get away with it! Ridicoulous!
