Will I ever get my singing voice or range back if I stop smoking...?

Oh, I have an answer for this! although everyones voice is different, for me it helped a lot. when I used to chain smoke it was difficult for me to sing. I was in a folk group where I played the fiddle and I sang, in college. It got so bad that i couldn't sing half the songs in a gig, because they were to high for my voice. One day sopre year i ran out of money, so i didn't buy a pack that day. i couldn't get enough money if i wanted. I stopped smoking for about a month. it was hard, and my girlfriend kept saying i was being an , but i did it and got over it. after about two weeks (and lots of ******* water, and self-training my voice) i was able to sound good again. my voice has a strong pronounced rasp, but it sounds find and i can sing clear or whatever. now i smoke maybe once or twice a week, just whenever someone offers me one, so i didn't quit entirely. I'd recommend cutting back or even quitting.
